New York Housing
Karen and I are trying to figure out where we should live when we move for my studies at NYU. Here are some neighborhood options, with the closest subway transport options listed in parentheses when appropriate:
- Brooklyn
- Fort Greene (B,R/DeKalb Av)
- Flatbush (Lefferts Gardens:B,Q/Prospect Park)
- Park Slope (Flatbush Av, F/7th Av)
- Williamsburg (L/Bedford Av, Lorimer St)
- Long Island City
- East Village
- Greenwich Village
- NOHO
- Hoboken (Hoboken PATH)
- Jersey City (Pavonia/Newport, Grove St. PATH)
Queens
Manhattan
New Jersey

Manhattan would be ideal, but its pricey. Brooklyn and Queens may be a bit of a hike, particularly during the coursework portion of your degree. But they would definitely be more affordable than Manhattan. But whatever you do DO NOT, for the love of all things holy, live in Jersey City!!
